About the tool: Microsoft Office Mix , a free downloadable attachment for powerpoint. Microsoft office mix allows you to add quizzes, audio, and video to already existing, or new PowerPoints. The tool allows you to upload your PowerPoint to the “Mix Website” so students can access it from home. This tool can be used in the classroom for its quizzing features. Teachers are able to see how long stuednts spent on each slide, and what their responses were to the quiz questions. This allows the teacher to know if students are understanding the material and spending an adequate amount of time on each slide.
We all know that it is critical to keep our students and parents of our students in the loop when it comes to education. It is not only one of the Charlotte Danielson components, but it helps everyone with being on the same page. Besides some traditional methods such as email, notes home, and phone calls we can use some tech tools and even social media to communicate with students and parents. Please don't get me wrong, the methods listed above are great - in fact my college students enjoy receiving a positive note in their mailboxes every once and a while. A call home to start the year off on a positive note goes a long way too.

What is the tech tool?
Smore is a versatile technology tool that can be used to present information to students as well as a tool to jazz up your website or welcome page on the LMS. With Smore you can also create digital newsletters to send to students to keep them up to date in the course. Also, you can make a flyer about an event and enable RSVPs! This tool can adapt to whatever you need. Within each smore you can add:
