Yesterday I attended a conference at Clarion U, it was a STEM focused conference. The conference kicked off with an amazing keynote @thomascmurray. If this name looks familiar to you - he was one of the individuals who spearheaded #dlday or digital learning day. He started his keynote by focusing on future ready classrooms and schools. It was an encouraging keynote with some elements of teach like a pirate (#tlap) and Danielson's framework for teaching. It was great to see an amazing teacher light the fire for education. I stuck around for his first session which discussed personalize professional development (PD). In this session we discussed ways to personalize our Professional Development. Some suggestions that were listed included:
The second session was when @HannahJSansom and I presented. We presented about apps in a discussion type format with other educators. Here is a link to our website. We divided the group into smaller groups based on the devices they had access to in their schools. @HannahJSansom lead a discussion with those who had iPads and I lead a discussion with those who had windows or chrome books. We had a great discussion about apps and tools!
The third session was lead by @mattbergman14 he lead a fantastic presentation about what to do with your students during the last 5 minutes of class. He focused upon 3 main questions to use the last five minutes:
Overall this was a fantastic, motivating, and encouraging conference. I enjoyed building my PLN.
